Guidelines for submitting your story

We would like to hear your story about dealing with Depression or Anxiety. Stories that are told by people who have personally experienced the journey are often powerful. We respect your privacy and no identifiable information will be included when we post stories on this blog site.

All submissions of stories will be moderated by the following points:
- 300 word limit
- stories must not contain graphic portrayal of suicide or self-harm
- stories must be original content
- stories must focus specifically on the effects of Depression or Anxiety on you and your experience of dealing with Depression or Anxiety
- stories should be aligned with the purpose of this blog site
- priority will be given to service users of Moreland Community Health Service or people who work, study or live in Moreland. This is because the original intention of the ‘Cocoons and Butterflies’ project was to provide the Moreland community with a facility to share insider knowledge of dealing with Depression or Anxiety.

Moreland Community Health Service reserves the right to omit, edit or modify any story submitted. Where possible, contributors will be notified and given an opportunity to make changes. Submit your story

To submit your story, please follow the steps below:

1. At the bottom of this page there is a white box with the word 'comments'. Click on 'comments' and a pop-up window will appear where you can leave a comment.

2. If you would like to be contacted about the outcome of reviewing your story or be consulted in the editing process, please include your contact details (eg. email address). All comments are moderated so your personal details WILL NOT be published on the blog site.

3. Consider the following questions when writing your stories:

- Does Depression or Anxiety affect your life, your friends’ or your families’ lives? How would you describe the effects of Depression or Anxiety?
- Can you relate to any stories in the 'Sharing our Skills/Knowledge’ section of this blog site? Did any of the stories spark off ideas for you to deal with your own particular Anxiety and Depression?
- Can you describe a skill or knowledge that you have been drawing upon to deal with Depression, Anxiety or panic attacks? Tell a story about a time when this special skill or knowledge made a difference to you or others.
